Bree Taylor Molyneaux; CHt, HBCE, HBFC, D.App Sci
Back in the day when I was researching my own birth choices, I was already of the mindset that it should be my choice to choose how and where I birth my babies, and yet I continue to find that for so many parents that is not something they consider or expect.
During my pregnancy, HypnoBirthing® the Mongan Method taught me (even more than I already did) to trust my body, allow it to do what it inherently knew how to do, and to surrender into the birth. Having taught this program for over five years now, I never cease to be amazed at how a little education can empower a woman or birthing couple to be brave and ask for what the want in their birth. And regardless of how their baby is born, I believe that finding this confidence is one of the greatest gifts that HypnoBirthing offers … it is giving birth back to women.
I am also know that through this empowering birth education program we are preventing birth trauma before it happens, so that more women and parents can enjoy a post natal period with their baby that is one of joy, calm and relaxed adjustment (instead of one filled with disappointment, pain or regret). And that is one of the most powerful reasons that I continue to teach HypnoBirthing to Brisbane parents.
My other specialities include Clinical Hypnotherapy, Fertility Hypnosis and NLP, Birth Trauma, post birth parenting support and gentle parenting strategies and I am here to support Australian couples in a wide range of ways.
Carla Morgan; HBCE, Sleep Consultant, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist
I love that HypnoBirthing® is an incredibly simple yet effective way of helping mums feel more confident about birthing. It empowers mums and their birth partners to take an active role in their labour and birth, so together they can make decisions to have the birth they want.
I also love that HypnoBirthing® philosophy, techniques and skills have a far greater application than pregnancy, labour and birth. HypnoBirthing® parents often tell me they use their HypnoBirthing® techniques throughout all aspects of their lives.
I’m a passionate birth advocate, educator and mother to two glorious children.
My other unique skills include helping pregnant mothers and families with young children improve their sleep with Holistic Sleep Solutions. I am an IMPI Maternity and Child Sleep Consultant and offer sleep workshops for newborns through to toddlers as well as in-home and Skype Individualised Consultations. I also have a keen interest in all things ‘placenta’ and as an IPEN trained Placenta Encapsulation Specialist offer these services to women in and around Brisbane.
Patrica Cumming; HBCE, Doula
A few of the things I love about HypnoBirthing® include the differences I see in couples as they transition through the course, noting how positive & confident they become, how open they are to new possibilities and the realisation that birth can be a joyous experience. Lastly, I love the babies…cuddling those gorgeous newborns!
My other unique skills include being a certified Childbirth Doula. That came about several years ago when a HypnoBirthing mum in one of my classes asked me to support her during her home birth. I readily agreed and soon found that other mums wanted me to support them. I then decided to become a certified Doula. Now as I witness the power of the mind over and over again I have undertaken study to obtain a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy. One day I hope to be a Midwife too!
Charlotte Hogarth; Midwife, HBCE
I am a mum, a midwife, a HypnoBirthing® (The Mongan Method) educator and passionate about women and their families. I have worked within a number of hospitals with very different approaches to care for women, however, the remaining constant between all of these hospitals was their lack of time and staff. Women are having shorted antenatal appointments, less antenatal education and the same can be said postnatally. With hospital stays decreasing women that are getting education in hospital are too early in the game to retain, remember or absorb it. So it has become my mission to do what I can to help women prepare for their pregnancy, birth and going home with their baby feeling if a little daunted, aware and slightly more prepared.
I have two children myself, two beautiful boys who bring craziness and love to my every day and it is the vast differences in my experience of their births that led me to becoming a HypnoBirthing Educator. While both of my births were quite similar in many regards and on paper my second birth should have been a piece of cake, my feelings and how I coped is a very different story. My first son, I felt prepared, I felt at ease, I was not chomping at the bit for him to be born, I was completely at peace with my pregnancy and enjoying the journey. When I went into labour, I knew who would be there, I was unsure how my partner would cope and when he did exactly as I needed him to, even when I didn’t know what I wanted, I was able to focus, calm and cruise through his birth. My second, however, involved so many variables about who would be there, who would look after my second, when would this baby finally get here??!?! When I did go into labour although relieved and excited, my head was very much not in the right place, I struggled to become focussed and felt much more pain, anxiety and fear.
I had always known that women needed to find a good headspace from my work in delivery suite, but after my second birth I realised it is not as simple as knowing what to expect and what you need to do. Hence the HypnoBirthing journey began.
Having moved back to the suburb I grew up in, I have realised how little there is available to pregnant, new mums so I am hoping to build a village of mums to help raise our children the best we can.
I live in Bellbowrie and run classes for women in the western suburbs. I also run Private and Refresher classes for women and their families.
